DOWNLOAD 3/06/08 UPDATEs

Note: There are 3 options you can use to get the update information. PLEASE PRINT THESE INSTRUCTIONS

OPTION 1: You are a new user in 2008 who has not yet downloaded the updated program (remember, do not add these data files to last year’s version of the program.  You must download the "full" program at least once from the subscriber area.) or you are in a league without protected lists.
OPTION 2: You have already entered your league's protected lists in earlier version of the software but want our updated data files.
OPTION 3: You have made changes to our projections and merely want to read our updated team notes to compare with your changes.

OPTION 1: The March 6th update programs are whole new programs which will be installed in your existing program groups. This will override your league set-ups and protected lists (if you have already entered them). However, if you have not entered your league's protected lists in the any of the earlier versions of the software and have not done a lot of work on your own, or are just ordering for the first time, this is the option for you.  Otherwise skip to option 2.

To download the files, click on the correct program from those listed below. If you are in separate AL and NL leagues you need to download those files separately. Only choose the combined option if you are in a league using players from both the AL and NL.  On the combined version, choose the proper size for your league and if your league is at the small end of the range please remember to code some players who will in fact make the opening day rosters as not making it for valuation purposes.  This will help the program run better.  For example, if you are in a 12 team combined league you would download the "small" version of the combined.  In that we have coded only the top 34 catchers as making the opening day roster and to be considered as draftable for our lists.  However, with only 12 teams you may want to cull that down further and only have about 28 catchers coded as on the opening day rosters.  The easiest thing to do is to first print out all players by value by position and leave a few more at each position than you will draft and then using the edit function drop the others from the opening day roster.  For more information on this you may want to refer our Technical Support page under Valuation problems.

When you start the download, if your browser gives you the option, save to the disc.  If your browser asks for plug-ins, you don't need them, just save to the file.

Now you may hop off-line.

Locate where your or your browser placed the files on your hard drive. Those with windows 98, 2000, 2002, XP or Vista can use the "Explorer" program.

Once you have located the files, double click on the files you download to extract them. Those with older computers may get some prompts asking if you want to extract. Answer "Y". Now you have to run the "INSTALL" program and that can be done by double clicking on the DISC Icon labeled INSTALL.

The program will install and set-up a default program group. We suggest you set-up a separate program group for each league you are in.

At this point, you have installed the program and are ready to go.

For players who switch teams, we will provide access to update ratios and playing time impact so you can keep the system as updated as ours is. All of these features will be updated daily as needed through Friday April 4th.

Good luck and enjoy the program!

Download STALLVALUE AL March 06, 2008
Download STALLVALUE NL March 06, 2008
Download STALLVALUE COMBINED March 06, 2008 (18+ teams in league)
Download STALLVALUE COMBINED March 06, 2008 (14 to 18 teams in league)
Download STALLVALUE COMBINED March 06, 2008 (less than 14 teams in league)

OPTION 2: Download the following data files if you have already entered your league's protected lists into one of the earlier versions of the software.

To download the files, click on the correct program from those listed below. If you are in separate AL and NL leagues you need to download those files separately. Only choose the combined option if you are in a league using players from both the AL and NL.

After you download, you need to copy the files from your browser program into the existing directories for your program (eg. SVAL08, SVNL08 or SVCOMM08 or whatever directory you have set up). Make sure you copy them into the correct directory. You then need to run the file either through the RUN function or by double clicking on the icon (eg. NLup308a.exe). Once you run the file it will ask you if you want to replace the existing files. Answer yes or click on replace. You should now be able to go into your system with updated data files. As a check, AL users find Pakland 3B Eric Chavez  now on the DL and  NL users find outfielder Corey Patterson now on Cincinnati.

Download STALLVALUE COMBINED March 06, 2008 data files (14 to 18 teams in league)

OPTION 3: If you have already made a lot of changes to our projections (we are only practically perfect) you probably don't want new data files which will override the changes you have made. Thus, you should avoid downloading a new program or new data files. What you want is to go to Team Notes and compare the changes you have made with those we recommend.
